Top soil - newbie question
What sort of price would I expect pay for top soil?
I've called a couple of places who've said that their top soil has been "screened to 20mm" which I presume means there are no stones bigger than this. Is this standard, or should I be looking for a different 'spec'. Sorry to sound so stupid about this. First time!! Thanks in advance. M |

Top soil - newbie question
'mandy',
I strongly advise that you follow the advice given on this site as it says everything that you need to know, except the cost, and I regard it as a well written document for those delving into soil buying for the first time. http://eesc.orst.edu/agcomwebfile/ga...l/topsoil.html As for cost, you get what you pay for. It could be a load consisting of some loam and far too many 20mm stones or a combination of loam and clay. Definitely have a good look at what you are getting. It is too late when they have tipped it up on your drive. Regards, Emrys Davies. "mandy thomas" wrote in message ... What sort of price would I expect pay for top soil?
