Bark or Cocoa husk
Hi,
I need a covering for a play area for my daughter. Probably two dumpy bags worth. What is it best to go for Bark or Cocoa husk? Is it OK to buy from my local garden centre/DIY shed or are there better suppliers? cheers Kevin |

We just buy a new bag every year to top it up. Saffy -- Please feel free to visit my homemade greetings cards website at www.saffys-cards.8k.com |

Don't be alarmed if the bag is a bit mouldy and sweet smelling when you open it any mould vannishes after day or so It will last longer if you lay it over an old carpet. The cocoa husk is only realy a weed suppresenct a very good one because if forms a kind of sticky mat over the surface |

Much appreciated Kevin You can buy rubberised chippings made AFAIK from old car tyres, these may well be even safer as there is no danger of splinters, bits getting into eyes etc and they should be very soft for a landing. No idea where you can get them from though, perhaps your local council may be able to help with a supplier. Mike www.british-naturism.org.uk |

Mike www.british-naturism.org.uk Presumably also the local cats won't find it quite as appealing as bark to use as a toilet....which could be a major disadvantage of bark for a children's play area. Do they remove that? Last time I saw a dilapidated tyre the wires looked sharp. Worth checking? Kostas |
