"eddy" wrote in message ... how real are these for us to worry about. what are they ? Don't get too worked up ;-)) Somebody been blinding you with 'science'? Pathogens are everywhere, in soil, air, water - you name it - just a general term for any organism or substance that makes something ill. They are normally only troublesome to a plant or animal that is in a susceptible state - like malnutrition etc. Just don't worry 'til you get problems. Good soil management and plant nutrition will keep you mostly OK just as healthy lifestyle and 3 square meals a day keeps you mostly OK. Rod |

eddy wrote: how real are these for us to worry about. what are they ? Anthrax, botulism, tetanus, etc.... take your pick. Of these probably only tetanus is worth being routinely protected against. Botulism is relatively common but only a serious health risk if you try making your own herbs in oil and don't get the mix exactly right. Many soil fungi and bacteria are beneficial or neutral. So don't panic!!! Regards, Martin Brown |
