The Whitchurch Waterway Trust has joined forces with local residents to
organise a Garden Trail this summer. The Trail will take place on Sunday 3rd July between 12 noon and 5 p.m. All visitors will be more than welcome. Local people from properties adjacent to the site of the proposed Canal Extension / Water and Country Park have kindly agreed to open their gardens to the public for this event. It is expected that in excess of 100 visitors will tour the 9 display gardens The entry fee is £3.00 per adult. The route will be clearly marked, with a choice of starting points, and refreshments and plant sales will be available along the way. The garden owners will be on hand to give information about their displays and give advise should visitors want it. Two local Charities are benefiting from this event as the proceeds are being shared between the Trust and the League of Friends of Whitchurch Hospital. This is the first time that the Trust has organised an event of this nature and Chairman Chris Goodwin hopes that Trust Members will turn out to support it. http://www.wwtrust.org.uk/page14.html Patrick Turnbull Treasurer (Whitchurch Waterway Trust) |
