Re : Blueberries
----- Original Message -----
From: "Alan Holmes" Newsgroups: uk.rec.gardening Sent: Sunday, February 06, 2005 11:55 AM Subject: Blueberries This weeks Screws of the World has an article about growing Blueberries. Where would one get the plants? Can they be grown in the ground? Any other information about them would be appreciated. -- alan Hi Alan, I grow Blueberries in the ground. We are on a neutral soil and I'm told that it needs to be acidic. Despite that we get heavy crops each year. You need more than one bush as they are not self-fertile. We bought three from "Homebase" and they have been very successful. The wife has been less successful turning them into Blueberry muffins and muffins are now firmly off the menu..... (my apologies to Alan for emailing this reply by mistake - sorry, I'm a bit new to all this stuff ) |
