thanks kay - feel a bit more welcome now! not many crocodiles round here so
maybe i need to acclimatize. fiev ps (friendly advice - honestly) you really should hide your email address on NG's, there are lots of programs people use to trawl email addresses from usenet to use for spam purposes. even if you add something like it lets people know but confuses the machines :-) "Kay" wrote in message ... As I said, the spam never reaches me, so I don't have a problem. More friendly advice - this ng uses bottom (or in-line) posting, and top posting by the occasional poster messes up the threads. And you really should post your original pic on a web site somewhere - remember, half of us haven't seen it yet! -- Kay "Do not insult the crocodile until you have crossed the river" |

If you still have the picture you tried to send to urg, why don't you post it to any binary group and give us the URL, so that the experts might have a look at the symptoms? Franz |

No index needed if you just list a link to it. Failing that, any number of nice people here would post an image that you emailed them (asking first, of course). The marks could be feeding marks from sucking pests like thrips or red spider mites. In either case you'll most likely need a decent hand lens to see the offenders clearly. Google should throw up some images of these suspects. Basil is equally susceptible to these pests. Thrips is my first bet - the feeding marks are more obvious and they're more likely to be found outdoors than are rsm. Predators are available to control these pests or use a suitable pesticide (the label will tell you if it's suitable) I wouldn't use the fatty acid based materials - don't like soap flavoured toms. ================================================= Rod Weed my email address to reply. http://website.lineone.net/~rodcraddock/index.html |
