I have been quoted a price of UKP 172 for a net of 80 cotswold rockery
stones (including delivery) and have established that the cost of renting a 7.5 tonne truck for a day (UKP 100) and collecting it myself from a quarry in west Oxfordshire at UKP 45 a tonne (approx) is going to be significantly cheaper as well as allowing me to choose the size and shape of stones I would like. It could be cheaper yet if someone else is planning a rockery and would like to make the trip to the quarry with me with a view to sharing the truck rental costs. Ideally I'd be looking for someone in Bracknell / Wokingham / Camberley / Farnborough / Reading area however would not rule out other areas like Basingstoke and Newbury that are reasonably close to the route. If this idea appeals and the time scale (early August) suits, please get in touch via email: rockery-share at sandvika.co.uk (it's a temporary address that I can block once the spam-bots pick it up from usenet!) Regards, Roderick |
