Actinidia Cutting advice

An Actinidia cutting I took last year has sprung to life on the windowsill
in our kitchen , is it best to nip the leading shoot now ,or not . Also how
do you harden the cutting off ,bearing in mind the mother plant always
suffered early frost damage. ??
