Thymus Vulgaris dying off after flowering?
The thyme I bought from Tesco last year has flowered beautifully but is
now dying back with lots of yellowing leaves! Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks! Steve Harris - Cheltenham - Real address steve AT netservs DOT com |

Thymus Vulgaris dying off after flowering?
Just a couple of questions.
Did you keep the plant in the pot or did you plant it in your garden? If you kept it in the pot, it could be root bound. Thyme is usually pretty indestructible. If you HAVE planted it in your garden, I have no idea what the trouble can be BUT I do know that thyme is dead easy to take cuttings from. Snip off the healthy looking stems, remove the leaves from the bottom of the cuttings and pot them up, keeping them watered. They will root in no time and you will have loads of new plants to put in your garden. Hope this is of some help to you. |
