Had a friend who tried out the " lets use a micowave to sterilise
soil" He did it once, and said never again, as the sight of so many
good bugs being killled was not pleasent

As for the link about defra postponing the law on peat in compost, it
might well not yet be actioned, but it will sometime, so I guess the
manufactures are planning ahead

That's trhe point of steralizing soil. You kill all that it contains
ands start off with a clean slate.
