TCP thyme :-(
My thyme plants died, the way they do in my garden, so I replaced them with ones bought from two different garden centres. But the thymes have a strong scent of TCP, in addition to the normal scent, thus making them useless for cooking (their main purpose). I am seriously annoyed, as you can guess, and assume that they have a common supplier who supplies a new variety that grows better, so is more profitable. Does anyone recognise this, and can anyone tell me brands of seed that definitely do or do not have this taint? Note that I am talking about common or garden thyme, not any of the special forms. Regards, Nick Maclaren. |
