Anyhow, a forsythia cutting seems to have taken, and I was wondering whether this would serve as a replacement. It would certainly give an injection of colour in a gloomyish corner. Do they need a lot of direct sunlight? Thanks Phil I have Forsythias in two quite different positions: one in good light, but limited direct sun, the others on a roughly north-facing wall, in the dappled shade of birch trees, so getting no direct sun. The one in good light definitely has more flowers. ---- Gardening on Wilts/Somerset border on slightly alkaline clay underlying soil worked for many decades. |
