I don't usually do hydrangeas in pots but as chance would have it, I was given a potted one this summer which then dried out a few times and wilted, then came back. It does have a very droopy look now, although it's a small plant. I'm no expert on hydrangeas though... Have you checked for any sap sucking bugs that might be undermining stem turgidity? -E -- Gardening in Lower Normandy |

We usually find watering restores ours quickly but some of the larger headed ones can become too heavy for their stems and need a bit of staking. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.com South Devon |

I think you need to cut out some of the weaker growth and give it a light prune, even if you sacrifice some flowers next year. Then give it a feed, especially bearing in mind it's living in a container. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.com South Devon www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
