I'm not sure that I like to think of our Botanic Gardens as being
'improper'. However, it will probably be incorporated into the
developing 'University of the Highlands and Islands' which has
its campus in Inverness.

Free because of taxpayer subsidy, and only recently "rebranded" from
its name "Floral Hall" to "Inverness Botanic Garden".

AFAIK it's never been a BG in the same sense of the ones that funded
the great plant collectors, grew on and collated their seeds and
specimens or support botanical research.
