Sowing seeds a bit late
I recently emailed a garden centre to recommend some tomato seeds to a
beginner and they mentioned: ailsa craig, fandango, alicante, But on their web site it says to sow in March. Its now the end of April, does it matter please, or what might be the consequence to plant now? Thanks. |

Steve They will grow and probably give you tomatoes, depending if you are growing them in a glasshouse or in open ground, if in open ground then if you can get hold of large poly bags or poly tubing say 3ft wide, then put in 4 canes and to hold the polythene open, plant in the middle and lift the polythene up to around 3 ft, it will give you a mini greenhouse, in warm weather you can lift the polythene at the bottom up a couple of inches to get air movement, but in cold bring it right down and close the top. David @ an almost dry side of Swansea Bay, though heavy rain due soon. |
