Felco sharpening stone

I purchased this oil stone from Felco when I bought their secateurs. The
stone is quite small, 10 cm in length and a triangular cross section
each side 1 cm. Now one side has a groove in it, this is obviously for a
reason, can someone please explain it? TIA
