Calanthe Kozu hybrids
Bought one of these recently from Edulis, should be caramel coloured and
should also have a perfume. I intended it to be planted out in the garden, anyone growing these like that and if so how, and are they as hardy as it's said? I realise they flower early so the spike can be subjected to severe frost damage but I was told the plant itself is as tough as old boots. -- Regards Bob Hobden Posting to this Newsgroup from the W.of London. UK I had a look at them on Google Images: Lovely!! Are you planning to grow yours in the garden or in a pot indoors/outdoors? They're not cheap, are they?, but you're making me fancy one. -- Spider. I was planning to plant it outside but not until later in the year as I don't know how it's been kept until now. I bought it at the Hampshire Potato Day because it looked a very good plant and they were only charging £8.50 and I knew that was cheap. -- Regards. Bob Hobden. I hope it grows well for you and flowers. I honestly don't have any anecdotal info on hardiness for you, so I'm sure you're right to hold back until the frosts are over. Be wary of slugs and snails too, until you know the risk. Good luck. -- Spider. On high ground in SE London |
