striking red hover fly
Yesterday I saw a marvellous hover fly in the meadow, it had carmine red
wings that appeared to be edged in black. I've never seen one like this before. Quick searching on google didn't turn it up, does anyone know the species? Thanks! -E -- Gardening in Lower Normandy |

Also seemed to have a beaky head, if you know what I mean. -- Gardening in Lower Normandy |

Will keep looking. http://pinterest.com/grostron/hoverflies/ -- Spider from high ground in SE London gardening on clay |
