Yacon
I know it may be strange but I have a plant question.
Has anyone tried growing Yacon? David @ a sunny section of Swansea Bay. |

I expect you need a lot of rain, but then you have that. |

One of the things I would like to know is just how big the tubers get, On-line info doesn't really say. Just that they grow like dahlias, but I have varieties that form nice little 4 or 5 inch tubers whilst others will fill a bucket.. I suspect the latter will be nearer. |

It's just started showing signs of growth and I've potted it on. That's as far as I know. -- Simon 12) The Second Rule of Expectations An EXPECTATION is a Premeditated resentment. |

I got mine from Otter Farm and I was looking up their details to pass on but the photo on this page shows them to be the size of a large potato. http://shop.otterfarm.co.uk/product/yacon/ -- Simon 12) The Second Rule of Expectations An EXPECTATION is a Premeditated resentment. |

I shall be getting some more this summer - even though I put the 'growing' tubers in side, I think the winter did for them. -- Rusty Hinge |
