Default Bag filling?

I have just had to change my shredder, my old Bosch 2200's motor caught fire
and having been happy with its performance I decided to replace it with
almost the same, just a slightly bigger motor the Bosch 2500AD, when it
arrived I realised they have mucked about with the design and it now has an
integral box under, to collect the sheddings which has to be in place to
start it up, and the shape also means you couldn't get a bag under it any
way.

I used to let the shedder empty direct into old compost bags which could be
stashed somewhere until I was ready to use them, but its not easy to fill
bags from the collection box, so does anyone know of a large funnel
arrangement that I could fit on the bags to aid filling?

How about one of those green 'pop up' collectors featured on here a few
threads back with your compost bags, or black sacks, inside?

Or make a funnel out of a flexible medium such as stiffish plastic?

Mike

Charlie done a bit of homework. I have got a Bosch AXT 2200 which does not
have a collecting box,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Rapid-...798625&sr=8-1I use a plastic 20 litre plant pot which is 26 mm High and 37.7 mm Dia whichis ideal and quite easy to download into a sackCould you A) Fit a pot into your box which is required to start the machineor B) Cut the front of the box out with some of the side so that the remainsof the box stay in place for starting, but the shreddings go into the plantpot?Mike--...................................I'm an Angel, honest ! Charlie, Bosch is the pits of tools.
You would be happier going up a notch or two.

I am seriously looking at a modification, why they changed what was a very
good product to stop stupid people putting their hands in I don't know, why
anyone should worry about the fate of the terminally dim is beyond me!

An inner smaller container is the simplest idea, although I have to say the
box was easy to use if you wanted to empty it into a compost heap or a
wheelbarrow.

The link to the American collapsible bag was probably a bit OTT but I can
see where you were going with it

Going up to what? its predecessor gave great service, we are major shredders
here and it gets a lot of heavy use, I have no grumbles about its ability to
shred stuff I was just cross at added unnecessary safety features!

Charlie a solution from a simple bloke.

No modifications

Empty existing box into wheelbarrow ................. no problem.

Use
http://www.cleaningsupplies4u.com/pr...FcrItAoddl8AqA
.... to shovel shreddings into suitable sacks

:-))

We use one for filling seaweed bags, made like this;

Get a cylindrical HD plastic container about 2ft 6" high (a commercial
caterer will have them
to give away) and saw off the top and bottom. Result is a free-standing
tube. Mine is cut from top to bottom,
so that I can adjust the width of the tube. Stand the tube inside a sack
(the tube supports the sack);
fill the sack, slide out the tube .

Janet

That's the sort of thing I had in mind, but didn't know where to get the
plastic so many thanks for the idea!

What about one of the white bins that the Dutch send flowers across in?
They mostly pile up at the wholesalers, just cut the bottom out.
