It really would be a dream since I've never bought a lottery ticket but,

whilst I'm dreaming, I would like a bigger garden and a good gardener to

go with it who will do as he's told (I'm too possessive and bossy in the

garden to put up with less!). I would still want to garden myself, so

he'd have to be cooperative and have a good sense of humour (he'd need

it). I would have a river and two ponds, so that I can plant a huge

wetland area, put fish in one pond and encourage wildlife to the other.

I've always wanted a two-zone greenhouse with lantern roof and

porch-type entrance which would be flanked by substantial coldframes.

Mustn't forget the built-on conservatory for my orchids and some vines.

I would also like a large brick-built shed with electricity wired in,

so I can make tea. Both the conservatory and the shed must be wired to

the alarm system. Hopefully, I would still have a bit of cash left to

buy trees and plants. Mmmm ... that'll do to start with :~)) !

Hmm................that's a problem I got as a professional - I had to keep reminding the owner whose garden it was.
Gardens are so personal that the gardener does get very proprietorial and rightly so. To do a job well you have to take ownership and responsibility so these relationships can be a bit fraught, though if they work well it can be very enjoyable for all concerned.
The sister of my late boss is rather strong minded and an excellent and knowledgable gardener her lovely garden gets showcased in the glossies but she is no longer able to do it all herself. Sadly her gardeners don't last long.

I can well understand that. It isn't an easy alliance at all. I've
worked in friends' gardens, but no-one is very keen to work in mine!
I'm not *that* bad, and I don't talk in botanical latin all the time ..
quite!
