Default Apple tree problem

Hello,
My apple tree "red windsor" espallier has been doing really well, I have winter washed it and sprayed for bugs and fungus. Early last week when in full bloom the top two branches suddenly lost all leaves and blossom. no warning. It now looks quite sorry for itself, "gutted" any ideas and will it come back. If I knew how to put photos on I would as I have a few.

You come to this Usenet Newsgroup via Gardenbanter (not direct like most)
and they have a way of posting photos to their web site and then you can
post a link on this newsgroup. You could also use free photo hosting sites
like flickr and again, post a link.
Being a binary Newsgroup you cannot post photos direct.
