We had several
people around last year to give quotes re removing a tree, laying a new
patio etc, and we were burgled a few weeks later.

up here (Cheshire) a friend had people round quoting to do the driveway.
later their car was stolen using a hook-and-grab technique. The police said
that it would have been the driveway quoters who look to see where the keys
are kept whilst quoting. (there had been other cases locally which is how
the police knew.)
