If you want to collect seed then the trick is to do it at the right
time - watch for the pods turning grey and then for the slightest sign
of the pods starting to split. That's the time to collect seed. It's
tricky I know but if you harvest too soon, the seed won't be viable
and it won't stand a chance of becoming viable.

Incidentally, I've been told that young radish pods are edible and can
be added to salads though I've never tried that.

Cheers, Jake

Rats tail radish pods are edible but only if you pick them young. They
get a bit chewy after too long.
They are grown for the pods though.

When young they are quite peppery, quite nice to eat.
When the pods are almost ripe you can cut them and hang the stems in
bunches
with the heads in large paper bags to catch the seed when it falls
from the pods.

A load have already spilt and germinated much to my OH's horror as
they do take over a bit. I've told him they'll all die when it frosts
anyway.
Have seeds in the garage waiting to be popped out
