They have probably got blight which appears on tomatoes and potatoes
when temperature and humidty conditions are right (wrong;-0)
Outdoor tomatoes never do that well compared with greenhouse ones in
the UK re. cropping. After all they originate in the tropics.

Leaf curl I believe is due to large day/night flutuations and my tomatoes alaways seem to suffer but it's not really anything to worry about. Not sure what you mean about the tear drop at the bottom!

thanks, what i mean is instead of them being totally round they have come to a little point at the bottom. i wondered if it has something to do with either being to wet or not wet enough, but dont know enough to form an opinion.

Ah, I get that sometimes. I think it is a matter of irregular
watering, which I'm prone to; the fruit would probably have got just a
little bigger if properly treated, but it doesn't affect the taste.
