Another box of plants from my order arrived this afternoon, not by the post
this time but a courier. They will probably be ok but are rather battered, all of the plants were out of the slots in the special packaging and a bit tangled up. I have potted them up and will see if they perk up after a few days. I was looking at some trays of bedding plants for sale in town last week and they were no bigger that JPD's "garden ready" plugs I have bought, but at least 5 times the price! Mike |

Mike I'd get on to Jersey plants and tell them about the condition of the plants, for a start they wont know about the carrier mistreating the packs. |

Mike I'm glad that you're having better experience than I (at least it sounds as though you had the number of plants expected inside the box). Totally agree on pricing - I've seen the famous polystyrene six packs priced at £6.99 this year. Totally OTT for six African marigolds! OTOH, I'm still waiting for a refund from JP. Initial email contact with JP on 3 May - immediate auto response promising reply within 4 working days - response on 16 May saying refund arranged. ... I'm going to order from JP next year, but not as much as this one, and hope that they get back to their normal selves. NEVER had a problem with them before but it's been like buses this year. I wonder whether there is some "weather" problem affecting growth in the Channel Islands - Dobies have been very late in sending this year with stuff arriving anything up to a month after their original estimated despatch date. Incidentally, there seems to be some upheaval in couriers. I know that Home Delivery Network have bought DHL (and have been told there'll be a rebranding of both as "Yodel" soon!) but I've had various DHL labelled parcels delivered by Hermes and Hermes parcels delivered by Royal Mail. Someone on the continent paid a premium for "express DHL delivery" of a letter to me. DHL apparently took it as far as the local post box! Jake |

I've received my refund from JPD at last, a month to the day since reporting the problem. Another flippin' cheque. Adding this to all the other cheques I've received in the last 5 years brings the grand total to two (the other was from JPD). Wrote my last cheque in 2007 and that was only to avoid a debit card surcharge. I compare JPD's response with Tesco. Day 1 - delivery at almost 10pm and found an item damaged whilst unpacking. Delivery chap apologised and said he would sort a refund. Day 2 - apologetic email received at 10am promising refund. Day 3 - card credited. Day 4 - my card was debited for the original order. So I received the refund before I paid for the order. Now that's service for you. Nearest bank branch is 7 miles and a quid to park away so glad the local PO hasn't shut. Why can't JPD refund to the plastic like everyone else I wonder! This letter didn't mention "system fault" like the last one, merely the pleasure they had in sending me the refund. Jake |
