I wondering if anyone could shed any light on what this is in my border?

I must confess to have planted all sorts of plants etc over the last few years with little sucess, so this could be one of many things i've tried.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Anemone blanda hybrid, unless I am much mistaken.
