Default Plant ID please

The Autumn foliage caught my eye rather than the flowers which look like
they are at the end of their season. It is a good strong healthy plant.
Unfortunately it was all on it's own at the DIY shed / garden centre and
without a label or price tag, so at least I got it cheap.

Could it be a Potentilla nepalensis Miss Wilmott?

Thanks Sacha. Googling on this brings up plants which look the same/very
similar. I notice there are a number of cultivars of Potentilla
nepalensis.

Yes, there are quite a few - lovely plants. I think the colour of yours
look rather like Miss Wilmott, though the Google images do give tremendous
variations!

This is another variety/cultivar of the plant you asked ID for a few
weeks ago (also a Potentilla)?
I have grown 2 or 3 kinds over the years. One was available by seed
from T+M but it never got going for me.
Another one may have been "Gibsons Scarlet". Currently I have one in
my front garden and have no idea what variety it is but it looked like
the one you posted before. That new one you have now looks nice.

Spooky! I was just reading your posting when the Mrs interrupted me to
point out a photo in a plant book of Gibsons Scarlet. There seems to be
no shortage of plants called Potentilla. Unfortunately I'm not very hot
at naming plants.
