Default Mountain Ash

I've got a Mountain Ash tree in my back garden. It's about 4 or 5 year
old, and last year it produced a wonderful lot of berries. This year it
looks very sad, with hardly any leaves and yet doesn't show any sight of
disease. Anyone experienced anything like this with the same species of
tree?

Default Mountain Ash

Mine is constantly being munched by the deer ( No cure for this except a
nice meal of venison. Mountain Ash are extremely tough, as mine keeps
constantly leafing back again, with no help from me. (No diseases though).
I've even seen a Mountain Ash come healthily back from the roots after being
burned...... Pinetree

Depends. Is it a Rowan or a Eucalyptus?

Presumably a Rowan, as you mention berries. I have a Eucalyptus (also a
mountain ash), that has had a problem which was caused, I think, by
proximity to a Vibernum (sp?) which had "that beetle" a couple of years
back. And I think it's done some damage. If it's a Rowan, ignore me. I
haven't got one :-)

A quick google has taught me that "mountain ash" is a common name in
Australia for Eucalyptus regnans... but I've never heard it used to
describe a Eucalyptus in the UK.
