Come across this plant which the owner says is a 'wire netting' plant.
I have never heard of it and wondered if anyone knows the proper name so I
can check it out?

If it has criss-crossing, thin, dark branches and small yellow flowers
it's probably Corokia cotoneaster, which is a NZ native and does remind
you of wire netting! I'd never heard of it either until I saw Chris
Beardshaw recommending it once in one of his programmes. See pic at

Yes it was in a large container and had been there for at least 6 years.
(Surrey)
Thanks for all replies. I did actually find info elsewhere so I can let the
owner have the details.
My plant encyclopaedia says to propagate with softwood cuttings but I wonder
if seed might be ok as there are plenty of berries on it. The lady who owns
it says many have tried to propagate from it and all failed so I do like a
challenge. Wonder if the seeds need stratification though I doubt it being a
native of NZ

Thank you for the links, my plant finder is dated 1999, time I had a
new one I think. I had no idea there were so many varieties.

Squires on Kingston bypass is where the one I saw came from. (Surrey)
