Could someone please advise why my sprouts don't have any substance to them?
They're just a few outer leaves with nothing firm inside. This is my first time growing them. Thanks. |

It may well be that they are not in firm enough soil, my Father reckoned that if you had to plant them with a crowbar you would have good tight sprouts. Never had to do that but I do make certain that the soil is well compacted before planting. |

I'm also wondering if the dry weather this summer has had an effect as some of ours are also as Susie described and I can't believe it's because of soft ground in our case as I do firm them in well and then puddle them in, always have done. Susie, you didn't plant them too close by any chance? -- Regards Bob H 17mls W. of London.UK |
