Default Sparrows on fat balls

Hi

I seem to recall someone here a while back saying that they never see
sparrows feeding on their fat balls

I always have loads of sparrows - sometimes as many as three per ball.

We were discussing this over breakfast this morning and wondered whether
they follow the example of the various tits in our garden?

Do any of you have sparrows feeding on fat balls? If so are there tits in
the garden?

.........aaaaghh balls and tits-this is getting silly!

Hi Jenny,

I have fat balls in my garden which are eaten by tits, by sparrows pretending to be tits, and even by starlings pretending to be very big tits.

Yes, there are a couple of blue tits around, but not very often: I don't know if they were setting an example?

I use fat balls in order to frustrate the darned pigeons - it's about the only sort of food that they can't get to, he he he.
