Hi Hugh:

annual weeds are small and flimsy and easy to pull out but numerous;
perennials dig in better and you have to pull them out more carefully
and try to take all roots with the plant;
that will get all except a small group of what even respectable posh
gardeners refer to as total sh**es and complete and utter bas****s.
This includes ground elder and horsetail and horseradish and a few
others but of these only horsetail sounds really impossible (says I
smugly not having suffered from it and having managed to control ground
elder). What does it look like (please do not say it is green :-)?
