Default Camellia

I have 10 foot tall camellia Debbie. She is currently in full flower but is
getting too large. When can I prune her and can I propagate from her?

I do ours as soon as the flowers have finished and the new growth begins to
show, the plant then has the summer to put out shoots to cover/hide any
cuts. Our's get pruned a little every year, that way they don't look bald.
:-)

You can propagate but it's not a simple matter with camellias. I've done it
with sterile soil, a sterilised cutting and a plastic bag hung up in the
greenhouse for a year but the best method is with bottom heat and mist
sprays etc, but I'm told it still takes time.

I'd *LOVE* to help by taking a few Camelia cuttings! Are you anywhere near
Essex by any chance?
