My parents got moles in their garden in Somerset, near Glastonbury. But soon some badgers arrived volunteering to do away with them, which they did quickly and effectively. To start with, they were happy to do this in return for being allowed to keep the moles. As an on-going charge to keep them off, they keep all the windfall fruit. Unfortunately the hedgehogs have resigned in protest at the new labour force arrangements.

Default Moles!

Thanks for all your kind replies - I will be reviewing carefully as they
seem to be getting worse!
A quick look at the foot of the garden where I have some grass cuttings in
a compost heap shows more activity close to there, so maybe they are looking
for worms?
Anyway, should I require the services of a mole catcher, where do I find
one - yellow pages? - or is it "underground" info? (;D))
Cheerio for now

Yes. There's always more worms in the rich humusy soil near compost
heaps. But also, this is the moles most active time of year, making new
runs. They quieten down later in spring.

Yellow pages under "pest control", or local farming supplies shop.
