I would check out the spares situation and insist on seeing the one you
are thinking of buying started from cold. Otherwise I cannot offer much
else.

Default Flymo DM rotavator?

Flymo is part of Electrolux - I bought a McCulloch petrol hedge trimmer and
after the second one went wrong just out of warranty I gave up.
To cut a very long story short - they offered to do a fixed price assessment
of the tool - by a local hire depot!! I rang them & they told me they
couldn't handle it so it would have to go away about 30 miles - they too
probably were too busy and so it would end up at their main regional repair
centre about 70 miles away..... When asked what happened if I decided not to
go ahead with the repair if it was at my expense - I was told that if I paid
carriage they would send back to me a box containing the bits.
I declined their kind offer - Oh and I won't be buying any more McCulloch,
Flymo or Electrolux kit either and will check their web site VERY carefully
to see who else they own before making any further purchases.
My opinion in short - buying NEW kit of that make is risky - buying used kit
............ Caveat Emptor!!

I'm not familiar with that particular model but looking at a picture of it,
it appears to be a front tined model (as opposed to mid or rear) which would
mean you would have to use the wheels whilst rotovating. They appear small
and look like they will end up acting like a plough on either side.

Also without a depth bar it would seem to make it hard to use.

Hi Dan

I have a Flymo DM rotavator but they are a bit ancient and spares are a problem. The bit that wears most is the V belt. I use AX20 as a replacement from Anglia Bearings, Boston.
