Default Are these "suckers?"

Hi guys,

Noticed this today on my bareroot "Tigress" rose. Funny thing is, yesterday
in Costco I was leafing through a "Care about roses" book and glanced at the
part they talk about suckers.
If they are, how do I get rid of them?

No, no - at least from the angle at which I get to see it, it seems to
be coming from above the bud union - so it looks like some really
gorgeous new basal breaks!

Congratulations - time to celebrate ;-).

Whoa,
I just read through posts on Google about my new rose. 95% of the posts were
NEGATIVE. :-( One post even called it the "rose from hell." Wow, I hope mine
doesn't turn into that. Maybe I should do a dance around, keep away the bad
spirits. :-)

Wow! That's great news.
Thanks Shiva, :-)

Welcome, Emil! You're a good bare root rose grower!

Aww shucks, thanks. :-)
I am off to pull some weeds from the front, a new nursery has opened up

near
me. Yesterday I saw a nice looking red rose while driving by, might

have
a
new home by this afternoon. :-)

Oo, very nice. Keep us posted.

Well, the red rose was "Mr. Lincoln." I passed on it, just wouldn't fit in
the look of the front yard. I bought "Tropicana" instead. The rose looked
good to me, has a terrific smell also. I was going to buy "Queen

Elizabeth,"
but the 2 they had were showing signs of black spots on the leaves. So I
passed on them. I planted it and hope Tropicana grows nicely. Oh, the rose
has 5 buds on it that are about to bloom, one has already bloomed. Should

I
cut them off, or leave as is?

Thanks,
Emil

Emil. G Fear not. One man's dog is another man's heartstopper. Not
to mention the fact that your roses inspire you to dance, right? :0)
