http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tegory=20 520 Well, I wonder... What I didn't see was any reports of how much copper was in the water at any one time. That is what I would want to see. Some knowledge of levels of copper that are harmful to fish and if this product ever reaches those levels over time. k30a and the watergardening labradors http://www.geocities.com/watergarden...ors/index.html |

It's an old theory. When I was a kid we used to put a pennies and a
dime in our aquarium filters to control algae and kill parasites. The problem is some smooth skinned fish (like eels) and invertebrates can not tolerate it. If I remember right it killed snails also. (not sure on that) "Bob in PA" wrote in message ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tegory=20 520 Check it out... Copper and Ponds just don't seem kosher to me. I don't know if algae is more or less sensitive. So if you don't feed your fish then this may not be for you as it might kill some natural food sources (this would be especially bad if you expect fry to survive in your pond). Will also probably kill some parasites. I'm tempted to try a sponge. I still have a copper test kit left over from aquarium days. Be nice to know some numbers though, for algae, invertebrate and fish toxicity. |

(not sure on that) I just saw a picture within the last day or so of a copper band around a tree, with the slugs staying below the band. (The color of the band did not seem quite right, but it may have been the flash skewing the color.) Anne Lurie Raleigh, NC |

We discussed copper statues here before and I do believe someone said if
the pH is about 7.5 the copper doesn't precipitate off. ~ jan See my ponds and filter design: http://users.owt.com/jjspond/ ~Keep 'em Wet!~ Tri-Cities WA Zone 7a To e-mail see website |
