New Pondmaster pump
The new pump was delivered today and even with the adapter it wont fit the
largest hose we have. The outflow is much larger than the one on the Becketts were. We're going to have to search now for a store that carries such a huge hose.... if we find one it wont fit the filter.... so we'll have to find an adapter to fit it's intake. I think I need a few Excedrins. -- RM.... Frugal ponding since 1995. rec.ponder since late 1996. My Pond & Aquarium Pages: http://tinyurl.com/9do58 Zone 6. Middle TN USA ~~~~ }((((* ~~~ }{{{{(ö |

Is it a barbed fitting or pipe threads? YOu may be able to adpat it down with PVC fititings (reducers or a combination of such) and use a typical PP pr PVC hose b arb fitting which is commonly used on polybutylene (black well tubing they sell in large 100+ foot rolls. I wul dnot change out the hose per se, just adapt to it. |

RM What is the Inside diameter of the hose you have in use now, I don't know the interior but the outside is 1" . and what is the OD and what kind of fitting is on the pump? The new pump's OD is 1 1/2". Is it a barbed fitting or pipe threads? It's a barded fitting. We made up a list of what we need. I think the hardest thing to find is going to be a hose that fits over the 1 1/2" outlet so we can take it from there. He's going to take the Pondmaster reducer part with him. YOu may be able to adpat it down with PVC fititings (reducers or a combination of such) and use a typical PP pr PVC hose b arb fitting which is commonly used on polybutylene (black well tubing they sell in large 100+ foot rolls. The pump comes with a 2" outflow and a screw-on reducer to 1 1/2"s. We don't want to put backpressure on the pump reducing it to less than that, naturally. So we figure a 1 1/2" hose will be clamped to the outflow, then several reducers off that line. One to the filter, one to the settling-tank/veggie filter and the rest will be bled off to agitate the water surface. My husband says between Lowes, HD, ACE and TSC he should find what we need. I also gave him the info you sent...... I hope by this time tomorrow it's all set up and running. :-) -- RM.... Frugal ponding since 1995. rec.ponder since late 1996.
