Pond questions
1) What is the standard practice with regard to level control. Are most
pond setup to maintain a fixed level of water to counter act leakage and evaporation? 2) How are your pumps wired? Do the plug into a standard outlet or are they wired directly into a circuit. 3) Are the pumps on circuit breakers, or fault detection devices. and finally 4) Are pumps 120 volt or 220 volts |

I would guess that most smaller ponds are not. When mine gets low I fill it with a hose. 2) How are your pumps wired? Do the plug into a standard outlet or are they wired directly into a circuit. I had a circuit run to the pond area, with a standard outlet on the end of it so I can plug things into the circuit. 3) Are the pumps on circuit breakers, or fault detection devices. The circuit has a breaker with ground fault protection built in. and finally 4) Are pumps 120 volt or 220 volts Mine is 120. |

We use a toilet valve to regulate the level. No hassle. You can see it on our webiste. 2) How are your pumps wired? Do the plug into a standard outlet or are they wired directly into a circuit. Our pump plugs in a normal 110 outlet. Has GFI. 3) Are the pumps on circuit breakers, or fault detection devices. and finally 4) Are pumps 120 volt or 220 volts Jim |

If you're on city water, and you have a genuine _leak_, you could end up making the fish swim in chlorinated water. 2) How are your pumps wired? I think hardwired pumps are not even legal in the US and Canada, but I could be wrong. 3) Are the pumps on circuit breakers, or fault detection devices. Both. Always. and finally 4) Are pumps 120 volt or 220 volts 120. -- derek |

This varies alot, how big is your pond? 2) How are your pumps wired? Do the plug into a standard outlet or are they wired directly into a circuit. Both 3) Are the pumps on circuit breakers, or fault detection devices. Both, but GFCI always! and finally 4) Are pumps 120 volt or 220 volts Both, depends on the size. |
