Off the top of my head, and without looking into detail, if I saw it
on a roadside or fallow paddock around here, I'd say it is what we
know as Red Natal Grass. (Which used to be _Rhynchelytrum repens_ a
few decades ago, but now seems to be referred to _Melinis_.)
