Tree Leaf Identity please?
"Stewart Robert Hinsley" wrote in message
... In message .com, writes I have a tree in my yard - it is about 9 feet tall now I suppose... but I have no idea what it is... I have never seen it flower or bear fruit or anything like that... Can anyone identify what it is from this leaf? The photo is a scan and it is a little deceiving - the lobes are deeper than they look in the photo - it sort of hides that when it is pressed flat between the glass of the scanner. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...stery_leaf.jpg Reminds me of Sorbus intermedia (Swedish Whitebeam) or one of the related species. Is the underside of the leaf whitish? Very good suggestion, it's a pretty close match: http://www.haabet.dk/flora_danica/Seljer%f8n_(Sornus_intermedia).jpg http://www.aphotoflora.com/Sorbus%20...ia26-09-04.jpg http://www.mykonet.ch/images/Seiten_...rmedia404a.JPG cheers |
