Default Orchid Videos?

Can anyone suggest a source for orchid videos? Not so much 'how to" as examples
of different genera.

Bill,

You might try Bobby Baxters videos at
http://daylily.net/gardenvideos/orderform-non-us.htm . There only three
at this time, one of Breckenridge Orchids, Marriott Orchids, and
Seagrove Orchids but they do show good examples of both hybrids and
species. They are $20 each & that includes shipping . They appear to be
first generation (must have been shot with a digital camera) giving good
detail and color.
The rest of his videos are pertaining to daylilies but I understand more
orchid vids are on the way.

Rich, acutually that is the order form page for videos shipped outside the United States. They also only cost $15 each if shipped within the U.S. ($20 if shipped outside the U.S.)

If you go to http://happymoosegardens.com/orchids/videos.htm you can see the descriptions for all of my new orchid videos with links to both the U.S. order form or non U.S. order form.

So far this year I have orchid videos of Breckingridge Orchids, Marriott Orchids, and Sea Grove Orchids. I expect to film Krull-Smith Orchids in the fall of this year, and welcome ideas of other greenhouses that people would like to see on video.

Currently we also have daylily, iris, & hosta videos available. I will be going to Florida, St. Louis, Virginia, and Canada this summer to shoot more daylily videos, Oregon for iris videos, and Iowa for hosta videos. For descriptions of all my videos you will want to go to http://daylily.net/gardenvideos.

I welcome feedback from anyone that has seen my orchid videos or other videos.

I love getting plant overload but sometimes it is tuff. I will have to miss our local club's orchid crawl (Triangle Orchid Society) because I committed myself to be at an Iris show the same day. I will then miss our club's orchid auction and picnic because I will be at the American Hosta Society's National Convention. There are just too many plants and flowers, and not enough time to do them all.

Are there others in ths forum that have multiple plant addictions, too?

Shudder No, we try to run those unnaturals off before they take over the
group. ;-)

Wendy loves bromeliads and epiphyllums, I know.

I concur. Bobby sent me the one from Breckinridge to review.

Coming in at about 1:45, it's a lot more extensive and detailed that I expected. The photography
is pretty good, having been shot with a digital recorder, but it loses a bit going to videotape.
DVD's are on the horizon, so let's buy a few tapes to fund that purchase!

This is a good tape for beginners and folks who are in remote areas that cannot get to nurseries
easily, and Mark Rose does a fair amount of explaining what makes a particular plant desirable, but
not a whole lot of technical detail.
