I have jut acquired 6 pots of orchids, never having had them before. Two
pots are bursting at the seams. When is the correct time to repot them? They
will flower in August or September (hopefully), here in Australia.

Some genera have different needs, but the best general advice is repot right when the
plant is beginning new growth.

This sounds easy, but what about hybrids with no well-defined
growth-flowering-rest cycle?

This is a nice easter, by the way. When I came back from the weekend
skiing trip, one of my ascocendas sported a 3cm spike. My first
selv-grown vandaceous spike. Joy!

Geir,

In that case, just repot it when you see that new growth IS beginning.
