It depends on what type of orchid you have.

Can you give us a name - preferably off of a tag in the pot - or at least a
description of the plant and flowers?

The one flower has thick flat leaves that are white and is has a
purple centre. The other is red and purple in colour. Sorry I can't
give you the name of the flowers.
