Please accept this blatent abuse of your chat room, but we (as a UK Company) have a product that when mixed with soil will hold 2 to 3 hundred times it's own weight in water, ie, it will hold the water like a small resevoir and not just drain away, ensuring that flowers and plants should always have enough to drink. Works well in hanging baskets too!
This is NOT a brand new product, but it is not always easy to find.
