Yarrow Lawn for Hillside?
We have a 1 acre hillside in Southern California, and every year the wild
grass and weeds grow 4 feet tall before I can mow it in the summer. I am thinking of seeding this area with White Yarrow. Although there is a sprinkler system, the area gets very dry in the summer. Would the Yarrow look nice for a hillside? I don't have any experience planting Yarrow seeds. I heard it can be invasive, but in this case that is a desireable quality if it looks nice. However if it does not look nice then that could be a nightmare. Thanks |

If I were you, I'd do some research and find something that naturally lives
in your region, and may need little or no watering. That's sort of a trend out your way, and there's a reason for it. "DD" wrote in message . .. Thanks Once upon a time according to local legend, one of the residents of the complex in which I live introduced a single yarrow plant into his/her garden. From that single plant, it has spread over about half the complex, which is about 5 blocks in size. I'm not sure how long it took for the yarrow to do that. Maintenance keeps it quite short, and I think it is attractive that way, especially on our 'little hill'. It is very tough, and it is my understanding it grows well in a variety of climates, including dry ones. However do not underestimate the meaning of invasive. Dora |
