I don't think snow itself will cause that problem because snow will
just melt off and never hurt a thing. I beleive its a fungus. Ask your local nursrey Chuckie |

I initially said snow because that was the white stuff sitting on the
ground and the original poster never said where he might be. Under certain conditions there are slime molds that look silvery gray to white that envelope the grass causing little or no permanant damage. |
