lilac can it be saved?????
I have a lilac 3 feet high very nice round shape....... But with all
the rain we have had it sat in water for over a week it is now all shriveld it looks totaly dead I have transplanted it out of the standing water will it come back or should I give up? |

No expert here, but was it just limp in the water? or did it shrivel after transplanting? If the latter, I would say it has transplant shock. If you didn't do too much root damage in transplanting, it should survive -- but lilacs will take a LONG time to recover, so be patient. Clearly, I don't know how bad the standing water was, or what the lilac looked like when you made the decision, but the situation must have been dire to do the transplant -- in which case you were facing possible loss either way. |
