Default Walnuts

I have a walnut tree that is a squirrel magnet and those tree rats are
driving my dog nuts and I'm afraid the neighbors are going to start
complaining about the dog barking. Is there anything I can do to stop
the tree from fruiting. It's way to big to spray the whole thing. I
don't want to kill it either. Any good ideas would be appreciated.

Cannot help with your problem but I have never got a mature walnut due to
tree rats.
I am surprised that squirrels would be brazen enough to hang around when dog
is there.
Any solutions to this would be appreciated too. Dog with gun comes to mind

Are you kidding they sit out of reach of mine and taunt them scolding
them to leave so they can go back to eating!

Late this morning, after this exchange, I caught a tree rat in my
Hav-a-hart. (I've been after racoons getting on my deck and causing a
mess.) I had a weed puller in my hand and rattled his bars for a few
minutes before letting him go. One year I trapped and released 6 and killed
one in a rat trap and never got a walnut ;(

If you stopped calling them "rats", you might remember that squrrils are
actually good eating. Six would be just about right for a squirrel stew.
Haven't had that since we shot them with a 22 when I was a kid, but, it is
really pretty good, and no, it doesn't taste like chicken.
